ALEXANDRIA, VA — It's not always difficult to find homes for adorable litters of puppies, but sometimes the mother dogs need to find a family too.

That's the case with Momma Maya, a 4-year-old dog at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. She gave birth to a litter of puppies, who were adopted to other homes. Now she's looking for a home of her own where she can show off her playful nature.

Momma Maya, 4-year-old Female White and Brown Terrier/Dalmatian Mix
Momma mia! It's Momma Maya! Momma Maya is a 4-year-old cutie who is looking for a home where she can chill out and enjoy the finer things in life. After just raising a litter of puppies and sending them all off to wonderful homes, she is now looking for a little "me" time - and of course, a family of her own! Maya is a striking girl, with brindle markings on her face and ears and black spots under her mostly white fur, showing off her dalmatian lineage, with a petite stature at only about 35 pounds. While she can initially be a little shy, once she gets to know you, you will see what a playful pup she is. If Momma Maya sounds like the girl for you, schedule time to meet her at
