Mary Beth can be a bit shy, but she's working on her boldness, starting by writing her own note to her future family:

Hi there! My name is Mary Beth, and I'm a lovely 3-year-old black kitty with expressive green eyes. I'm a shy girl but sweet as I can be. You'll usually find me curled up in my cozy kitty bed behind the curtains, because that's where I feel safe and comfortable. I'm quite inquisitive and keep track of what's going on in my corner of the world. I like having visitors, but please speak softly and move slowly. I guarantee I'm worth the effort! Once I get comfortable with you, I enjoy pets and getting ear and chin scratches. I love it when you talk to me, and you can tell I'm taking in every word you say. I haven't paid much attention to toys, except pipe cleaners. Now, pipe cleaners get my attention - so cool. I am on the lookout for a new best friend to share my life with.
