Alexandria Resident Scores $100K In New Year’s Lottery Raffle
An engineer has claimed one of the winning tickets in the Virginia Lottery's New Year's Millionaire Raffle.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Tom Roltsch told friends that 2020 is going to be his year. It didn't take long for that to come true.
The Alexandria resident claimed one of the five winning $100,000 tickets in the Virginia Lottery's New Year’s Millionaire Raffle. He bought the ticket at the Harris Teeter, 900 Army Navy Drive in Arlington.
The winning ticket numbers were announced on Jan. 1, and Roltsch quickly learned he was a winner.

"I was ecstatic!" he told the Virginia Lottery. "I called my brother and my friends."
Roltsch, an engineer, will use the winnings to pay bills but has no other immediate plans.

Four other tickets are $100,000 winners in the New Year’s Millionaire Raffle, and three tickets are $1 million winners. Below are the winning tickets and locations where they were bought.

- Ticket #139631 (bought at Food Lion, 1100 Courthouse Road, Midlothian)
- Ticket #227336 (bought at I-95 Citgo, 5416 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg)
- Ticket #328806 (bought at Gobble Stop, 2771 Virginia Avenue, Narrows)
