Alexandria Schools Closed March 21 Due To Snow

Alexandria City Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, March 21 due to the winter storm warning for snow.

All activities at school campuses are cancelled. All essential personnel, including building engineers, custodians, maintenance shop employees and security staff will report as usual.

Alexandria is under a winter storm warning from 2 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang forecast calls for 2 to 5 inches of snow in Alexandria. Forecasters said heavy, wet snow is possible.

On Tuesday, March 20, ACPS did not dismiss students early but cancelled afternoon and evening activities on school campuses.
