Alexandria Schools Make Weather Call For Jan. 14

Alexandria City Public Schools has made a weather decision for Monday as snow continues through the weekend.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Alexandria City Public Schools and offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 14 as snow and hazardous road conditions continue.

The closure applies to all activities in schools or on school grounds. Essential personnel, including building engineers, custodians, maintenance shop employees and security staff, must report for work.

Alexandria and surrounding areas remain under a winter storm warning Sunday night until midnight. The National Weather Service expects accumulations up to 6 to 12 inches. A winter storm warning means snow-covered roads and slippery roads will make travel difficult.
