Alexandria Weather: Chances Of Snow Again
Snow could spoil the start of the spring weekend when peak bloom is expected for the cherry blossoms.
The DC area missed out on snow much of the Northeast got Monday, but Mother Nature isn't done trying yet. Forecasters at the National Weather Service are predicting chances of a rain/snow mix Saturday into the afternoon and again at night.
We know April showers bring May flowers, but what if they're snow showers? That's not good news for the visitors trekking to DC this weekend, which is when the National Park Service expects peak bloom on the Tidal Basin's cherry blossom trees. For the sake of the cherry blossoms, let's hope DC continues to evade snow as we've done much of the winter.
The rest of the work week will look more spring-like with showers and a possible thunderstorm. Here's the full forecast for the next week in Alexandria:

Tuesday: A slight chance of showers between noon and 3 p.m., then patchy drizzle with a chance of showers after 3 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 58. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Wednesday: A chance of showers before noon, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between noon and 3 p.m. Temperatures rise to 71 and fall to 35 at night. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Thursday: Sunny with a high near 55. Mostly cloudy overnight with a low around 41.
Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers after 9 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. A 40 percent chance of rain returns overnight with a low around 35.
Saturday: A 40 percent chance of rain before 9 a.m. turns into a chance of rain and snow between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., then a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. A 40 percent chance of rain, mixing with snow returns after 9 p.m., then gradually ends. The night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51.
