Alexandria Woman Capitalizes On Powerball Fever
She bought her winning ticket at an Alexandria Harris Teeter.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—October's massive Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots likely meant more people competing in hopes of a big win. That didn't stop Jennifer Tyler from playing and scoring in Powerball.
The Alexandria woman scored $100,000 in Powerball after her ticket matched four of the winning numbers and the Powerball number. She was one number away from hitting the jackpot.
The winning numbers were 16-54-57-62-69, and the Powerball number was 23. Tyler used random, computer-generated numbers on her lucky ticket.

Normally the base prize for her win is $50,000, but she added an extra dollar for Power Play. The Power Play for that drawing was 2x, resulting in her $100,000 win.
She told the Virginia Lottery she usually plays Powerball when the jackpot prize is large. That's why she used $20 in lottery ticket winnings to buy the Powerball ticket on Oct. 20. The winning ticket came from the Harris Teeter at 4641 Duke Street in Alexandria.
