Alexandria Woman Leaves Dog In Hot Car
An Alexandria woman left a small dog inside a hot car over the weekend in Centreville, police say.

CENTREVILLE, VA — An Alexandria woman left a dog inside a hot car at the 14200 block of Sweetwater Lane in Centreville Sunday, Fairfax County Police say.
Around 6:45 p.m., Officers responded for a report of a small dog locked inside a car. Police estimate the temperature inside the car was likely around 100 degrees. Police could not immediately locate the owner, so firefighters freed the dog from the car.

Officers made contact with the owner. Elizabeth Gibb, 31, of Alexandria was issued a summons for inadequate animal care.
