Alexandria's First Cidery Sets Grand Opening For June
Lost Boy Cider is a hard cider production facility and tasting room with apple trees on site.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Lost Boy Cider, the first craft cidery in Alexandria, will hold its grand opening on June 8-9. It is located in a renovated warehouse at 317 Hooffs Run Drive in the Carlyle area.
The cidery invites all to attend the grand opening between noon and 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9. Expect food trucks, music, merchandise and of course, hard cider.
Led by founder Tristan Wright, Lost Boy Cider is a hard cider production facility and tasting room. Ciders are made from Virginia apples, and the cidery has several semi-dwarf golden delicious apple trees on site. The trees will produce 80 gallons of juice and reach a height up to nine feet. Members will get the first taste from the first harvest in fall 2020.

The production facility is the first to be licensed by the Virginia Farm Winery. Earlier this month, the governor's office announced Lost Boy Cider received a $30,000 Agriculture and Forestry Industries Development (AFID) Fund grant. The city will match it with local funds.
Wright has been working to open Lost Boy Cider for years and submitted a special use permit application in late 2018. He decided to pursue cider making after he was diagnosed with a serious soy and gluten allergy and learned he shouldn't have some types of alcohol.
