Art On The Avenue, Turkey Trot Highlight November Del Ray Events

ALEXANDRIA, VA — In the time between Halloween and the winter holiday season, there's still plenty to do in Alexandria's Del Ray neighborhood. Art on the Avenue and the Alexandria Turkey Trot are two of the event highlights in November.

Art on the Avenue was rescheduled from Oct. 1 due to the impacts of Hurricane Ian remnants. It will now take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 along Mount Vernon Avenue. The event is centered around hundreds of local and regional artist vendors ranging from jewelers and silversmiths to woodworkers, pottery makers, painters, sculptors, fabric artists and more. Other activities include food vendors, live music on four stages, children's art activities, a pie baking contest for children and more.

The next big event is the Alexandria Turkey Trot, which takes place on Thanksgiving morning. This year's event will happen on Thursday, Nov. 24 at 9 a.m. The five-mile run and walk goes through Del Ray with a start and finish at George Washington Middle School. An award ceremony follows at 10:30 a.m.
