Beloved Alexandria Police K9 Gage Dies

K9 Gage worked in Alexandria for six years and was about to celebrate his 10th birthday.

Alexandria Police is mourning the loss of K9 Gage, who died Thursday just three days before his 10th birthday.

Gage retired last year with his partner Sgt. Cindy Scott. He was a trained patrol canine and narcotics detector, working with police for six years.

"Gage was well loved and will be missed by his family, the Alexandria Police Department and the Alexandria Police Foundation," said Alexandria Police in a statement on Facebook.
