Bishop Ireton's Model UN Team Ranked in Top 150 in North America

From Bishop Ireton High School: The Bishop Ireton Model UN Team, under the direction of Mr. Mike Rauer, was recently named as one of the 150 Best Model UN Teams in North America by the Best Delegate Organization. Bishop Ireton is also listed as one of the 13 top teams from the Mid-Atlantic region which encompasses Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

The honor was based on the success of the 2015-16 Model UN Team's success last year.

Those BI Model UN student delegates who helped to earn this distinction were participants in the Best Small Delegation recognition BI received at the University of Virginia (VAMUN); George Mason University (MASUN); the Virginia Governor School (GSMUN) and the UNA-USA State Department conferences.

The Model UN Team for 2016-17 is continuing the tradition of another successful year by having a very successful outing at William & Mary's Model UN Conference, winning Best Small Delegation. At the Delaware Model UN Conference, five students were awarded first place gavels. Over the Christmas break they will be preparing for two conferences; at Chantilly High School on January 6-7and at Gar-field High School (Woodbridge) on January 13-14.
