ALEXANDRIA, VA — Bon Vivant Cafe + Farm Market, a cafe and grocery at 2016 Mount Vernon Avenue in Del Ray, has closed. The business wrote on Facebook that the last day was Tuesday, Feb. 25.

"We have enjoyed being a part of Del Ray and [its] community, and we have loved and appreciated all the support we have received. However, due to the increasing difficulties of running a restaurant these days we found it necessary to close," read the Facebook post to followers.

Open since 2014, Bon Vivant was known for supporting local farms with its prepared and take-home foods. Offerings used grass-fed meat and dairy and other local farm products with no preservatives or additives; paleo, keto, vegan and gluten-free options were also available. The wide selection of menu items included quiches and other all-day breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, soups, bowls, frozen meals, coffee, tea and more.
