Catch On The Ave To Open This Week In Del Ray
The team behind Augie's Mussel House and Mason Social is launching the restaurant in the former SnackBar location.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Catch on the Ave, the restaurant replacing SnackBar at 2419 Mount Vernon Avenue, announced it will open on Wednesday, Dec. 19. SnackBar closed in September.
The restaurant is run by Common Plate Hospitality, the team behind Mason Social, Augie's Mussel House and the upcoming Urbano 116. It will offer seasonal lunch, dinner and brunch menus with a seafood focus by Chef Eric Reid, the head chef at Augie's Mussel House.
The winter menu includes small plates like tuna ribs and smoked trout deviled eggs ($15 each) and sandwiches like the shrimp po-boy ($16) and hot catfish ($14). Brunch entrees range from the bacon cinnamon roll ($8) to the Pat Miller Square Fritatta ($15) named after the Del Ray figure.

The dinner menu has fish and grits ($21), beer-battered cod and chips ($18) and more. Whole fish are also available for market price. A kids menu features "Build Your Own Bento" with a choice of protein and three sides. ($9).

Restaurant hours will be 11 a.m.-midnight Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-midnight Saturday and Sunday.
