Charlie's On The Avenue To Close After Super Bowl Weekend
The Mount Vernon Avenue restaurant, which came from the Live Oak owners, opened in summer 2018.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Charlie's on the Avenue, a restaurant from the owners of Live Oak, will close in Del Ray. The last day of business is Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 2, the owners announced Wednesday.
Owners Jeremy Barber and Justus Frank did not provide a reason for the closing in the Charlie's on the Avenue closing announcement. Live Oak is expected to get a new menu incorporating some of the favorite items from Charlies' on the Avenue. The Garden, the beer garden opened next to Charlie's on the Avenue, will remain open.
Charlie's was named after Barber's grandfather Charles Swearingen. The restaurant offers a menu of shareable appetizers, sandwiches, salads, dinners, weekend brunch service and $5 kids menu. Guests could dine on the outdoor patio during the warmer months or catch a sports game on the TVs inside.

Charlie's on the Avenue is located at 1501 Mount Vernon Avenue. Hours are 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday, 3 p.m. to midnight Friday, 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.
