Chef Will Artley tells Eater DC that his favorite hamburger can be found in Del Ray. Artley, who used to helm the kitchen at Evening Star Cafe and is now in charge at DC’s BLT Steak, says his favorite burger can be found at Holy Cow in Del Ray.
Dubbed “The Big Deal,” the burger is made with a one-third pound beef patty on a brioche roll with a fried egg, cheddar, provolone, bacon and horseradish aioli. The burger goes for $9.95 or you can amp it up to a two-thirds pound burger for $12.95. For non-meat eaters, there’s the grilled Quinoa Veggie Patty topped with caramelized onions, sliced tomato, lettuce and chipotle ketchup on a toasted wheat bun.

Artley tells Eater DC that he always adds pickles to his favorite “Big Deal” burger and even plans special trips for the sandwich during his ironman training sessions. “After 75 miles on the bike, there isn’t a better, well-prepared burger I have had...I’d ride 200 miles for one,” he says.
