Cycling Studio Coming Soon to Del Ray

The new business will move into the spot where HomeMade Pizza was located.

Exercise options will expand soon in Del Ray, with the opening of Swēt Ride, an indoor cycling studio on Mount Vernon Avenue.

BARRETECH. and Kat Zajac, a certified personal trainer and local fitness instructor, are collaborating on Swēt Ride - the only studio solely dedicated to indoor cycling in Alexandria.

Slated to open in November, the cycling studio will be located at 2413 Mount Vernon Ave., in the old HomeMade Pizza Company location on Mount Vernon Avenue. No word yet on the cost of classes, but the owners say: “We will be offering a swēt (sweet) deal for our opening,” on their Swēt Ride Web site.

“We are committed to an exciting and effective workout, sweet studio vibe, and instructors that will make you sweat. Our goal is to tap-in to your ambitions, unleash your inner power and sweeten everyday life,” said Amy Barnes, founder of BARRETECH. and partner in Swēt Ride, in a news release about the new studio.

The instructors or “cycle techs,” will guide riders to find their Sweet Spot, the owners say, a higher power and a faster pace for a stronger ride. The combined cycling training techniques, motivating music and techs will make riders sweat, torch more calories and ultimately give riders a (Swēt) workout to brag about, they say.

“Our method focuses on sport-specific cycling techniques known as Sweet Spot Training (SST) and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to drive performance, improve muscular and aerobic endurance, and create a more powerful, toned body,” said Zajac, Swēt Ride partner. “Our riders can expect an improvement in their overall fitness and a class that will leave them coming back for more.”

Swēt Ride is recruiting “talented individuals who demonstrate athleticism, leadership and desire for a sweet job where you inspire your peers, “swet” with your peers, and change lives.” Contact Kat Zajac at info@swet-ride.com for consideration.
