Del Ray Beats Old Town In First Annual Softball Battle

Del Ray topped Old Town in the first annual charity softball game with a score of 16-15.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Del Ray beat Old Town in a tight matchup during the first annual Softball Battle Tuesday evening at Cora Kelly Field. The final score was 16-15.

The Del Ray team consisted of Stomping Ground's Nicole Jones, Lindsay Rose, and Lindsay Nelson; Pork Barrel BBQ's Tim Mannel and Chelsea Anderson; Kaizen Tavern's Allen Smith; Del Ray Pizzeria's Eric Reid and Nolan Grace, Holy Cow Del Ray's Mike Daily, Russel Wiggins, and Ana Romero, Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap's James Peugh, The Sushi Bar's Kyle Ross, Department of Beer and Wine's Jesse O'Connell, Evening Star Cafe's Daniel Hahndorf and Miles Prescott, Al's Steaks' Jack Heilman and Noah; Live Oak Restaurant's Chris McWhirt and Daniel Dia Barrios, team manager Bill Blackburn and first base coach Jen Walker.

The first annual charity softball game between Old Town and Del Ray benefited ACT for Alexandria with raffle prizes, activities for the kids, food trucks and more fun. Simpsons Real Estate and Yates Corner sponsored the event.
