Del Ray Businesses Collaborate For 'Hollywood on Hume'

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Collaboration of two businesses on a filming project recently exemplified the strong sense of community in Del Ray.

Nine Yards Media, which provides media and marketing services, needed a location for its video about privacy and social media. Since the script called for scenes for a cafe, nearby Nectar Coffee and Wine Bistro was more than happy to offer the location.

Nine Yards had a crew of eight and more than twenty-five actors on set to film the scene. The Nine Yards Media team called it the ideal location for filming.

"Finding locations in the DC metro area can be a real pain," said Bryan Ashby, president of Nine Yards Media, in a statement. "But, this was a no-brainer. I just walked across the street for my morning coffee and did a location scout at the same time. Within a week we were filming. That kind of simplicity is rare in our industry."

Adds Nectar's Shirley White: "We were more than happy to help. They came in after we closed and transformed the space into a movie set.”
