Del Ray Candy Cane Bar Crawl To Feature 14 Restaurants

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Del Ray Candy Cane Bar Crawl will return for a seventh year Saturday at various restaurant locations.

For the annual event, attendees put on their best holiday gear and visit restaurants in and around Del Ray for specials on holiday cocktails, beer or food. The event will run from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. The event is a fundraiser supporting Mount Vernon Community School’s Blessings in a Backpack, which provides weekend food for school-aged children who may otherwise go hungry.

Participating restaurants include Hops N Shine, Northside 10, Spice Kraft Indian Bistro, Los Tios Grill, Cheesetique, Piece Out Del Ray, Pork Barrel BBQ, Joy on the Avenue, St. Elmo's Coffee Pub, Del Ray Pizzeria, Lost Boy Cider (outside), Bella Napoli, Barkhaus and Lena's Wood-Fire Grill & Tap.

Tickets are available for $15 in advance and $25 at the door. Attendees will check in starting at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap (401 E. Braddock Road) or Hops N Shine (3410 Mt. Vernon Avenue), and trolley transportation will be available starting at 1 p.m. Late check-in will be available from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Pork Barrel BBQ (2312 Mount Vernon Avenue). The first 250 people registered will receive a swag bag with a 16 oz souvenir cup and other items. Tri-blend bar crawl long sleeve t-shirts will be available for purchase with online registration or at the door.

Admission also comes with access to food and drink specials at participating locations, trolley transportation, raffles, trivia contests, a photo booth and costume contest. The costume content will give best dressed awards for individual, couple, and group.
