Del Ray Lantern Walk Held This Week

As it gets dark earlier in the evening, Del Ray marks the occasion with a lantern walk.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—As the end daylight saving time brings earlier sunsets, Del Ray has a unique community event to light up the night. The fifth annual Del Ray Lantern Walk will be held Thursday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m.

Community members are invited to gather at Del Ray United Methodist Church, 100 East Windsor Avenue at 5:45 p.m. The Del Ray Kinderchoir will kick off the event with a performance at 6 p.m.

Participants will make their way to Judy Lowe Neighborhood Park (7 East Del Ray Avenue), where there will be a closing circle followed by cookies and hot cider. Anyone attending should bring their own lantern.
