Del Ray's Stomping Ground Closure Delayed Until End Of April
Fans of Stomping Ground's biscuits can get them for a little longer as the closing is delayed until the end of April.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Good news, biscuit lovers: Del Ray's Stomping Ground is remaining open for more time before it ultimately closes.
Owner Nicole Jones previously announced Stomping Ground would close in April and will be turned into a new concept. Now, Stomping Ground will remain open longer than anticipated — through April 30.
The restaurant cited "supply chain issues with new equipment" as the reason for extending Stomping Ground. Details and a timeline for the new concept have not yet been shared.

Stomping Ground has been open since 2015 at 2309 Mount Vernon Avenue, serving up biscuits and other fare. In the closing announcement, Jones shared the challenges of pivoting the restaurant during the COVID-19 pandemic and that Stomping Ground "survived" but "didn't flourish."
Jones also owns the adjacent Bagel Uprising and Old Town's new Virginia's Darling and Mae's Market & Cafe.
