UPDATED: Shayna Englin Employed by Krupicka Campaign

Carter Batey, the manager of Rob Krupicka’s state senate campaign, confirmed Friday that Shayna Englin, the wife of Del. David Englin (D-45), is employed by the Krupicka campaign.

Shayna and David Englin are principals in Englin Consulting, LLC, a firm specializing in communications and advocacy for organizations, campaigns and some for-profit enterprises.

On Thursday, David Englin announced in the Democratic primary for the 30th district seat.

“Shayna has been working with the campaign for months,” Batey said in an email. “David's endorsement was his, and his alone, to give and we are honored to have it.”

Krupicka is running against Del. Adam Ebbin (D-49th) and longtime Arlington County School Board member Libby Garvey.

David Englin told Patch he agreed with Batey’s statement.

“This is a piece of business that obviously I am a principal in, but I have nothing to do with that side of the operation,” David Englin said. “I am proud to endorse Rob. … Sometimes people have a hard time getting their head around that a married couple can be two separate people.”

Englin said he sat down with both Krupicka and Ebbin and gave “thoughtful consideration” to each candidate. Englin and Ebbin have .

"At Englin Consulting, we work on a wide variety of things, including a few campaigns," Shayna Englin told Patch. "David has nothing to do with that side of the business. David manages the communications side of the business. David only endorses in races he can vote in. He endorses as a member of the House of Delegates and not as an employee of Englin Consulting."
