
Participants will include Superintendent Morton Sherman, Alexandria Mayor William D. Euille and special guests Candy Carson, Carson Scholars Fund; Dr. Roy Heron, D.C. Metro Chapter/Carson Scholars Fund; B. Keith Fulton, Verizon; and Samuel Davies, Carson Scholar and T.C. Williams student.
The reading room, the first of its kind to open in a high school, will provide a nurturing and secure environment for students to hone, develop and enhance their reading skills.
Sponsored by the Carson Scholars Fund and its D.C. Metro Chapter, with additional support from Verizon, the room will be accessible to students during class breaks and after school. Teachers will use the space for unique classroom reading activities.
