It's spring clean-up time in the gardens behind the Monroe Aveenue YMCA (across the street from the Giant and CVS). These gardens were installed and are maintained entirely by volunteers, except for mowing the grass, so your help is especially important. We ask for help twice a year. In the spring the beds need to be cleaned up, weeded and edged, broken and missing bamboo hoops have to be replaced and the trees need weeding and mulching. This is your chance to pitch in, meet your neighbors, and help prepare these gardens for the growing season.
Please bring your favorite tools and meet in the back parking lot. If you don't have your own, some tools will be available.
For those who are interested, there will be a tour of the gardens on the YMCA and in the adjacent Simpson Park at the end of the work party.
