Evening Star Cafe To Hold Block Party For 20th Anniversary

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Can you believe Evening Star Cafe has been around for 20 years? The Del Ray staple is celebrating with a community block party Saturday, Oct. 21.

Everyone is invited to come out for an afternoon of food, drinks and fun from noon-6 p.m. Chef Keith Cabot will be serving up delicious rotisserie pig, Red Apron Butcher hot dogs and BBQ chicken to make it feel like summer again.

It's a family-friendly event, but that doesn't mean there won't be beer. Bluejacket will be rolling out their draft trailer and serving up 11 beers on tap for the first time in Alexandria. It will also introduce its newest beers called "The Ave," inspired by Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, an Evening Star Cafe favorite.

The full beer list includes:

• The Ave (IPA w/ Centennial Hops; Brewed for Evening Star's 20th Anniversary)
• For The Company (Helles Lager)
• Forbidden Planet (Kölsch with Galaxy Hops)
• Full Fathom Five (Double IPA with Citra & Galaxy Hops)
• Goldfinch (Belgian Blond Ale)
• Kelsey & Greg's Wedding Ale 2017 (Sour Blond Ale with Peaches & Apricots)
• Lost Weekend (IPA with Citra Hops)
• Mexican Radio (Sweet Stout with Spices)
• Turning Road (IPA with Mosaic Hops)
• Slingshot (Pale Lager with Hallertau Blanc Hops)
• The Palace at 4 AM (Sweet Stout with Coffee)

The event is free with a suggested $5 donation to George Washington Middle School. Food and drinks can be purchased.
