Evening Star Cafe Launches Community Blog

launched a new community blog this week where customers can keep up with renovation efforts and find out about reopening events.

"We’re planning to share our progress, cool new stuff, strange finds and other usual occurrences that are bound to happen when we flip this place on its head," an email to customers read. "There will be so much sharing, you may feel inclined to pick up a hammer and join in the work. Either way, it will be the place to come for all the latest news, hilarities and musings."

following brunch on Sunday for a somewhat extensive overhaul that is expected to keep the place closed for a month or so. Lunch service was suspended last week.

The blog also contains a few images of the building from 1996, including one of the building painted white building with a green awning for the Snuggery Cafe.

The Neighborhood Restaurant Group, which owns the restaurant, is for their old photos and memories of the restaurant. To submit your story or photo to the blog, email eveningstarcommunity@posterous.com. Your memories will also be shared at a reopening party.
