Canceled: Evening Star Cafe Plans Huge Block Party In Del Ray

UPDATE: The block party has been canceled to due an expected cold and rainy forecast. The event may be rescheduled at a later time.

Evening Star Cafe will mark its anniversary with a block party open to the Del Ray community on Saturday, Oct. 27 from noon-6 p.m.

Among the festivities are a crab boil feast, beers on tap from Bluejacket and performances by Del Ray musicians. Admission is free, but a $5 donation benefiting George Washington Middle School is suggested.

The performance lineup is as follows:

• 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.: Hanoi Ragmen
• 3 p.m.-4:10 p.m.: The Derds
• 4:30 p.m.-5:45 p.m.: Noise in the Basement

The block party menu will include:

• Crab Boil, $14
• Pork Skewer w/ Pasta Salad, $12
• Squash Skewer w/ Pasta Salad, $10
• House Made Hot Dog w/ Mac N Cheese, $8
• Mac N Cheese, $4
• Pasta Salad, $4

Bluejacket will have 10 different beers on tap, most notably the collaboration with Evening Star: "The Ave." The brewery has remade hazy, juicy Double IPA for its 2018 release. The Ave, which tastes creamy and full bodied with soft bitterness to finish, is double dry-hopped with Centennial to show vibrant aromas of tangerine, lemon zest and orange juice.

Bourbon slushies and frosé will also be available for $8. The full list of 16 oz beers will be available for $6-$9:
