The monthly event benefits a different local cause each month. July's event will benefit New Hope Housing, which provides shelter and programs to help homeless individuals and families in Northern Virginia. Residents can bring new single or queen size sheets, new towel sets, new pillows, cleaning supplies, or grocery gift cards for New Hope Housing's Veterans House, which is located in Del Ray. Donations can be dropped off July 10 to 17 during business hours at bins outside The Dog Store, Del Ray Psych & Wellness, and Waxing The City Alexandria.
First Thursdays are held monthly on the first Thursday from April to September. The next First Thursday themes will be "Aloha Thursday" in August and "Show Your Spirit" in September.
