Free Capital Bikeshare Offered In Alexandria For Earth Day

ALEXANDRIA, VA—As we celebrate Earth Day, there's no better time to try out environmentally-friendly forms of transportation. That's why Capital Bikeshare is offering free rides on Monday, April 22 in Alexandria and other areas it serves.

Riders can get a 24-hour pass good for unlimited 30-minute rides throughout the day. Bikes must returned to a Capital Bikeshare dock within 30 minutes to avoid extra time fees.

To redeem the offer, download the Capital Bikeshare app. Click on "choose a pass" and select 24-hour pass. Use promo code EARTHDAY19 and enter your information to create an account. A valid credit card is required to set up an account.

Capital Bikeshare offers 4,300 bikes at over 500 stations in Washington, DC, Arlington County, Alexandria, Fairfax County, Montgomery County, Md. and Prince George's County, Md. Prices are typically $2 for a single trip, $8 for a 24-hour pass, $17 for a three-day pass and $85 for an annual membership.
