Indoor Trampoline Park Seeks To Open In Alexandria
Get Air Alexandria will go to the planning commission Tuesday.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—The Alexandria Planning Commission is set to consider an indoor trampoline park on Tuesday, May 7. Get Air Alexandria seeks to open at the West End Village shopping center, 340 South Pickett Street.
According to a city staff report, the facility would have wall-to-wall trampolines, dodgeball courts, basketball dunk lanes and obstacle courses. Party events would also be available. The party areas would fit 24 people on the main floor and up to 72 people on the second level mezzanine. Parties would have packaged snacks and drinks.
Under the conditions for approval, the business could operate from 8 a.m. to midnight daily. The business anticipates around 100 daily customers on weekdays and 800 daily on weekends.

The space was previously a U.S. Post Office that has been vacant for years. Get Air has about 80 locations worldwide.
Staff recommended approval, citing the value of entertainment in an unused space. "The tenant space can suitably accommodate the indoor amusement enterprise use that requires a large area for play," states the staff report. "Staff does not anticipate noise impacts as the proposed indoor use is surrounded by commercial uses; the nearest residential area is 90 feet to the south."

The planning commission will meet on May 7 at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Council chambers. If approved, the proposal goes to City Council on May 18.
