Joi Dreams Salon Hosts Grand Opening In Del Ray

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Joi Dreams has pursued her passion of being a hair stylist in cities around the county. Now she's bringing over 20 years of experience to Del Ray.

Joi Dreams Salon has opened at 2101A Mount Vernon Ave and will officially mark its grand opening Saturday, Sept. 16 from 12:30 p.m.-3 p.m. The grand opening will feature raffle drawings, other small business vendors, gift bags and other fun surprises.

Joi Dreams is offering a full-service salon, which includes spa services, nail care, skincare, hair care and barbering services. She also sells natural hair care products and shares personal care tips on a blog.

Dreams started out owning a salon in the Bronx and did a short stint in Alaska before permanently settling in Northern Virginia, according to the salon's website. Through these different experiences, she learned to work with a diverse clientele, manage with limited resources and even master the military crew cut.

In her new business, her services go far beyond simply giving a haircut. She encourages "her clients to eat healthier, use products that encourage healthier hair and scalps and reducing the desire to partake in the newest unhealthy 'fads' for hair."
