Severance, 55, of Ashburn, and formerly an Alexandria resident, is accused in the murders of three Alexandrians over 11 years.

The jury left Thursday at 5 p.m., without a verdict. Severance faces charges in the deaths of Nancy Dunning in 2003, Ron Kirby in 2013 and Ruthanne Lodato last year. John Kelly, a spokesman for the Lodato family, said that members of all three families were awaiting the verdict together Thursday at the courthouse, NBC-4 reported.
