Keira Moran to Perform At Opening of ACPS Performing Arts Center
Percentage of sales from T.C. Williams student's album will go to the Alexandria Scholarship Fund.

Recording artist and student Keira Moran will help open the Alexandria City Public Schools Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday during a program scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the school.
Moran, who spent Wednesday morning doing radio press for her recently released “Wondergirl” album, will give a speech on the importance of arts education. Then she will perform her album’s title track with classmates Chris Porter and Chris Kidd accompanying her on guitar and drums, respectively.
Moran will also perform with more of her classmates in an orchestra piece and deliver a monologue from “The Laramie Project,” a play recently performed at the high school.

Moran is devoting 10 percent of the sales of her album on iTunes and Amazon from Wednesday through Friday to the Alexandria Scholarship Fund.
James Moran, Keira’s father and son of U.S. Rep. Jim Moran (D-8th), said staff at T.C. Williams has been very accommodating to his daughter’s burgeoning music career. She’s been able to maintain a 4.0 grade-point average this school years despite juggling performances and appearances. She recently signed a contract with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers to handle her radio play. ASCAP also represents pop singer Katy Perry.
