Los Tios Grill to Open Second Alexandria Location

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The City's dining scene continues to heat up, with news that Del Ray favorite Los Tios Grill has plans to open a second location in Alexandria.

Owner German Mejia confirmed Thursday that plans are underway for the new eatery, which will serve up Tex-Mex and Salvadoran fare in a menu that mirrors the one at its location in Del Ray at 2615 Mt. Vernon Ave. The Del Ray location is a popular spot, earning four stars out of five from 574 reviews on Yelp.

Mejia plans to open his second Alexandria location at 241 S. Van Dorn St., in the City's West End, in Van Dorn Plaza shopping center. The restaurant will take the place of El Primero Bar & Grill, which recently closed.

The new Los Tios Grill will offer the same menu as the restaurant in Del Ray. The Van Dorn location will be the third Los Tios; there is also a Los Tios Grill in Leesburg. Mejia also owns a fourth restaurant in Leesburg.
