Mayor-Elect Silberberg: 'It Is Time for a Shared Sense of Purpose'
Allison Silberberg won mayor's race Tuesday with more than 60 percent of the vote, fending off a write-in challenge from Mayor Bill Euille.

Mayor-Elect Allison Silberberg, who won Tuesday’s election for mayor of Alexandria after a write-in campaign challenge by current Mayor Bill Euille, issued a statement Wednesday thanking her supporters, congratulating those who were elected or re-elected and asking for all to come together for the sake of the City:
“I am deeply grateful and honored to be the Mayor-Elect of Alexandria, Virginia! My heartfelt thanks to the citizens of Alexandria! And my personal thanks to the Allison Brigade and the Parkfairfax Brigade, our whole outstanding all-volunteer team, and all those who have helped and supported me. I am so grateful. Our message resonated. We have had a total grassroots effort, and I am very proud of the fact that we ran a positive campaign every step of the way.
My thanks to Mayor Euille for his long service to our city. I ask for his guidance, help and input as we move forward.
