Meeting on Oakville Triangle/Route 1 Corridor

The seventh community meeting for the Oakville Triangle/Route 1 Corridor was held Monday night at Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe St. in Alexandria.

The meeting is part of a planning process likely to result in a Master Plan Amendment of the existing Potomac West Small Area Plan, which covers the Oakville Triangle and Route 1 Corridor planning study area. See Potomac West Small Area Plan

The City of Alexandria is seeking nominations to fill the vacant Potomac Yard Representative slot on the Oakville Triangleand Route 1 Corridor Advisory Group.

The nine-member Group is advisory to City staff on the planning and associated regulatory submissions for Oakville Triangle and the Route 1 Corridor.

The Group will develop principles regarding potential land uses, open space, sustainability, transportation and connectivity issues, and potential community benefits, among other topics.

The Group meets monthly on average over the course of the approximately 18-month process, and will sunset upon completion of the planning process and related approvals, anticipated for Fall 2015.

The City seeks to fill 1 slot:

· Potomac Yard South (CDD #10) Resident (1 slot)

All applicants must complete and submit the brief application form located here to the Department of Planning and Zoning.

Applications must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Submissions received after this deadline will not be considered. Additional information can be found here or requested from Amy Friedlander at 703-746-3858 or amy.friedlander@alexandriava.gov.
