Metro Station Shutdowns To Impact Alexandria In November
There will be station shutdowns between Braddock Road and Pentagon City for a long weekend.

ALEXANDRIA, VAāUpcoming Metro track work will result in two station shutdowns on the Blue and Yellow Lines with impacts on Alexandria riders. Blue and Yellow Line will not operate between Braddock Road and Pentagon City stations over Veterans Day weekend (Friday, Nov. 9 to Monday, Nov. 12).
Reagan National Airport and Crystal City stations will be closed. Free shuttle bus service will operate between Braddock Road, National Airport, Crystal City and Pentagon City stations for the duration of the work. Free express shuttle bus service is offered between Franconia-Springfield and Pentagon stations on Friday, Nov. 9 and Monday, Nov. 12 from opening to 8 p.m.
On Friday and Monday, Blue Line trains will operate between Franconia-Springfield and Braddock Road every 12 minutes during daytime hours and between Pentagon City and Largo Town Center every 12 to 16 minutes. Yellow Line trains will run between Huntington and Braddock Road every 12 minutes during daytime hours and between Pentagon City and Mount Vernon Square every 12 to 16 minutes.

Riders should expect crowding and plan for extra travel time on Friday. Nov. 9 with trains running less frequently.
Over the weekend, Blue Line trains run Franconia-Springfield and Braddock Road every 12 to 15 minutes during daytime hours and between Pentagon City and Eastern Market every 24 minutes. Yellow Line trains will operate between Huntington and Braddock Road every 12 to 15 minutes during daytime hours and between Pentagon City and Mount Vernon Square every 24 minutes.

Metro asks customers to consider Virginia Railway Express (VRE) train service between Franconia-Springfield, King Street, Crystal City, LāEnfant Plaza and Union Station.
The work includes upgrading several switches outside Reagan National Airport and installing concrete pads beneath the rails along the aerial structure at the station.
The next track work project will mean no Yellow Line service into DC from Monday, Nov. 26-Sunday, Dec. 9. Metro is making repairs on the Yellow Line bridge. Blue Line Service will run from Virginia to DC.
