Motorcyclist in Critical Condition After Crashing Into St. Clement: Report

A motorcyclist involved in a collision Tuesday afternoon on Quaker Lane is in critical condition, according to a report by WTOP.

The cyclist crashed through a window at about 4 p.m. Tuesday at St. Clement Episcopal Day School, injuring several children, according to the report. Some of the children were hit by broken glass. The school is in the same building as the Church of St. Clement and operates extended-care programs.

Alexandria police are investigating the crash at Quaker Lane and Dogwood Drive; the area is also near a 7-Eleven store and in the Fairlington neighborhood. The church and school are located at 1701 N. Quaker Lane.

A car turning left reportedly hit the motorcycle heading south on Quaker Lane. No word on any injuries sustained by the driver of the car.

Traffic on northbound Quaker Lane was shut down for some time during rush hour while police investigated the scene.
