Mount Vernon Rec Center To Close For Maintenance
The rec center will be closed for several weeks during maintenance, according to the city.
ALEXANDRIA, VA—The Mount Vernon Recreation Center at 2701 Commonwealth Ave will be closed for several weeks to undergo maintenance. The closure will begin Saturday, Aug. 18 through Monday, Sept. 3.
Other recreation centers are available to Alexandria residents:
Charles Barrett Recreation Center: 1115 Martha Custis Dr.
Services: Gymnasium, Meeting Room, Athletic Field, Game Room and Kitchen/Dance/Arts & Crafts Room
Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Charles Houston Recreation Center: 901 Wythe St.
Services: Dance Room, Boxing Center, Meeting Room, Game/Multi-Purpose Room, Kitchen, Library/Computer Room, Fitness Room, Locker Rooms, Neighborhood Pool, Pre-school Area and Activity Rooms
Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday: 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
Leonard "Chick" Armstrong Recreation Center: 25 West Reed Ave.
Services: Racquetball Court, Gymnasium, Arts & Crafts Room, Dance Studio, Game Room, Locker Rooms, Activities Room, Fitness Room (Recreation Center Fitness Pass Required), Athletic Field, Teen/Senior Center and free WiFi
Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 a.m.- 9 p.m., Saturday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Services: Exhibit Hall with Serving Kitchen, Meeting Rooms, Dance Studio and the Richard Kauffman Auditorium with seating for 400

Nannie J. Lee Recreation Center: 1108 Jefferson St.
Services: Gymnasium, Kitchen, Multi-Purpose Room, Reading Lounge and Crafts Room, Tennis Courts, Basketball Court, Playground, and Miracle League Field
Hours: Monday and Wednesday: noon-9 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: noon-6 p.m.
Patrick Henry Recreation Center: 4625 Taney Ave.
Services: Gymnasium, Game Room, Meeting Room, Playground, Tennis Courts and Athletic Fields
Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
William Ramsay Recreation Center: 5650 Sanger Ave.
Services: Full Size Gymnasium, Game Room, Arts & Crafts Room, Dance Studio and Fitness Room
