New Del Ray Boutique to Hold Open House, Ribbon-Cutting
Top It Off to celebrate its new store Thursday with an open house and ribbon-cutting.

Looking for just the right thing to “top off” that outfit? You won’t have to go far: Top It Off, a new boutique, has just opened in Del Ray.
“We’re so excited to be in Del Ray,” manager Mary Elizabeth Duke said Tuesday afternoon.
An open house is scheduled for Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting hosted by the Del Ray Business Association at 5:30 p.m., at the boutique, located at 1906 Mt. Vernon Ave. The location is the former home to Contessa’s Home and Garden.

The boutique features everything from scarves to jewelry to bags to gift items at a “look for less.” “You won’t find anything over $50,” says Duke, who manages the store, as well as an outlet store in Fort Hunt at Hollin Hall shopping center and a fulfillment center in Lorton.
The boutique is an offshoot of a larger wholesale manufacturing business that sends designs to more than 2,000 boutiques across the country. The products are made overseas, much of it in India and shipped out of Lorton.

The business is co-owned by Karena Rasser of Alexandria and Elizabeth Hoenscheid, who lives just outside of Boston, home to another retail location.
The store hours in Del Ray will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
