No Charges in Fatal Hit and Run in Alexandria
There will be no charges for the female construction truck driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in Alexandria.

There will be no charges brought against a female construction truck driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in Alexandria Sept. 3, according to the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney, City of Alexandria (see complete news release below).
The crash that killed Deborah Ann Bogart, 60, of Alexandria was a “tragic accident,” Commonwealth’s Attorney Bryan Porter said in a news release.
City prosecutors said that they were not able to determine if the victim was in a crosswalk and that the driver didn’t appear to be breaking any laws. They also said that no witnesses have come forward in the case.

Bogart was hit by a construction truck that Thursday morning at around 9:20 a.m. at Braddock Road and Commonwealth Avenue (see map below). Police said she was struck with such great force that she died instantly.
Police had asked that anyone who was in the area between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. that morning and witnessed anything unusual or who had any information related to this incident call Investigator Barrett 703.746.6873.
