• Arlington's spotted lanternflies may reach a turning point in 2028 or 2029 (arlnow.com) — If you live in Del Ray, experts say you may still dodge the worst of the spotted lanternfly, which so far appears very patchy there compared with North Arlington and Northwest D.C. An Arlington-Alexandria forum predicts two or three more bad seasons before birds, bats, and possibly wasps help reduce the invasive pest's numbers. Residents are urged to kill lanternflies and report tree-of-heaven on public land.
