Photo Gallery: U.S. Capitol Tree Visits Del Ray

The U.S. Capitol Christmas tree made a stop at Mount Vernon Community School on Saturday near the tailend of its voyage from California to the Capitol lawn.

Visitors had the chance to sign a banner, which serves as a national Christmas card, on the tractor-trailer carrying the huge Sierra White Fir.

After visiting Del Ray, the tree was scheduled to visit Hershey, Pa., before heading back to Washington, D.C., for a Dec. 6 tree-lighting ceremony on the Capitol lawn.
