Alexandria Police Investigating Homicide of 22-Year-Old

Police found body of City resident Eduardo David Chandias Almendarez in City's Four Mile Run Park, after he was reported missing.

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the death of Eduardo David Chandias Almendarez, 22, after his body was found Friday in the City’s Four Mile Run Park.

Alexandria Police, assisted by the Fairfax County Police Search and Rescue Team and police dogs, conducted a search of the park on Friday, after he was reported missing earlier in the week.

The City of Alexandria park is located at 3700 Commonwealth Avenue and 4131 Mount Vernon Avenue (see map below).

During the search, officers located a deceased adult male near Frank Mann Field in the park, suffering from apparent injuries, police said. The cause and manner of death will be determined through an autopsy, according to police.

This is the fourth homicide in Alexandria in 2015.
