Poll Open To Select New Voting Sticker For Alexandria Election
Residents can choose the new "I voted" sticker for the November election.

The Alexandria Commission for the Arts has opened a poll to choose the new voting sticker for Alexandria in this November's election.
The "I voted" sticker has three potential designs created by local artist Christina Mazurkevich. The new sticker is a project of the Commission for the Arts in conjunction with the Alexandria Electoral Board and Office of Voter Registration and Elections.
Mazurkevich designed the stickers while considering the spirit of Alexandria, the importance of democracy, and ensuring non-partisanship.

"It has been so much fun working with Christina Mazurkevich, reviewing designs and talking through ideas," said Matthew Stensrud chair of the Alexandria Commission for the Arts. "Now, we truly have a new spin on the idea of interactive public art - it's interactive because the public gets to help pick it out."
Residents can vote for the three sticker designs at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MGMCWLB. The poll is open for voting Sept. 17 through Oct. 1.

"I would like to thank the Commission for the Arts for the idea of giving local artists the opportunity to redesign Alexandria’s 'I Voted' stickers, and all of the Commission’s work in carrying out the project, said Alexandria General Registrar Anna Leider in a statement. "We hope city residents will go online and vote for their preferred sticker, then come to the polls on November 6 to vote for their preferred candidates."
