Robber Shoots Himself During Alexandria Break In: Police

ALEXANDRIA, VA—A robber accidentally shot himself when breaking into an Alexandria apartment with two others early Monday, Jan. 8, police say.

Around 12:51 a.m., the three unknown suspects broke into an apartment in the 3800 block of Executive Avenue. As the robbers pulled out knives and a gun, one suspect accidentally got a self-inflicted gunshot injury to the lower body. The three robbers stole valuables then fled. No victims were injured.

Police sent residents an alert about the robbery around 1:30 a.m. The Fairfax County Police helicopter assisted with the search.

The suspects are described as Hispanic wearing dark clothing. Anyone with information about the incident should call Detective Matt Kramarik at 703-746-6650.
