UPDATE: 14th Street Bridge Reopens After Police Activity

UPDATE 1:30 p.m.: The 14th Street Bridge has reopened Thursday afternoon, after a police investigation of a suspicious package, according to Arlington County.

Arlington County says to expect delays.

Due to police activity, the 14th Street Bridge is shut down in both directions, according to an alert by Arlington County.

Police are investigating a package that fell off of a truck around noon on 14th Street SW, a DC police spokeswoman tells The Washington Post.

Arlington County sent out an alert about the bridge closure at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

DC Police report that southbound 14th Street SW is closed from Indiana Avenue SW to C Street SW. Traffic is being diverted onto eastbound C Street.
