Second Annual First Night Del Ray Set for Thursday Night

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Looking for some local family fun on New Year’s Eve? Make plans now to head to the second annual First Night Del Ray at the Mt. Vernon Recreation Center Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Kate Moran’s Rainbow Rock will be performing at this old-fashioned carnival. While geared to children, adults are also welcome. The event will feature many different games — Plinko, Toilet Paper Toss, Gone Fishing, Tic Tac Toe, Guess # of Jelly Beans and Knock over the Cans, to name a few. Other entertainment will include a fortune teller, balloon art and a photo booth.

Kids will be admitted free of charge; adults will need a badge (which will also be sold at the door). The event will wrap up at 9 p.m. to allow everyone time to get to the fireworks on the waterfront.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by credit card at www.firstnightalexandria.org/tickets. Or if purchased at the door that night, bring check or cash.
