Taste Of Del Ray Planned As Three-Day Event In 2022

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Taste of Del Ray will once again be held over several days with participating restaurants offering tastes at their own locations.

A Taste of Del Ray is planned Friday, June 3 through Sunday, June 5. Registration costs $5, and attendees will then visit participating restaurants to purchase $5 tastes. The weekend will be preceded by a VIP reception Thursday, June 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with unlimited tastes from participating restaurants and a wine tasting. The event will happen at Jack Taylor’s Alexandria Toyota, 3750 Richmond Highway. Only 100 tickets will be available for the VIP reception, for $50 each.

During the Taste of Del Ray weekend, participating restaurants will offer up to three tastes for $5 each. Some restaurants may offer cocktail pairings as an addition. Check back later for participating restaurants with their food and drink specials to be announced. Dine-in or carryout options will depend on the restaurant.

"The pandemic forced us to pivot last year, and ask Taste of Del Ray participants to visit individual restaurants for their ‘taste,’" said Taste of Del Ray chair Karen Johnson in a statement. "We heard from restaurants and attendees that they really liked this new aspect of our event. Especially popular was the weekend long time-frame, which created a delicious three-day dining experience around Del Ray."

Awards will be determined by judges, as well as the People's Choice Award determined by attendees. All registered attendees will receive an online ballot for the People's Choice Award to vote before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 5. Winners of the Judge's Choice and People's Choice awards will be named on Monday, June 6.
